Thank you very much to everyone who came along to support the Summer Fayre last Saturday - we hope that you had fun! It was a beautiful day and the school was buzzing with excitement for much of the afternoon. It looks like we have been successful in fundraising a good amount of money for the school and we will immediately be investing some of that money in a Science Dome Day for the whole school to enjoy.
The Summer Fayre is a huge amount of work to run - over 130 hours were volunteered just on the day, not including the hours worked by Committee in the run up to the Fayre!! Thank you to all the family and teacher volunteers and cake bakers for your contribution - you are amazing! Thanks to all of those who sold raffle tickets. A special mention is necessary for a number of 'regulars', Year 4 parent volunteers who have helped at events for years, often working long slots to cover gaps. Many of these volunteers will be moving on from Friends activities as their children move to Parkfields next year. We don't know what we will do without them - thank you so much for all of the years of support!
Finally, I would like to take the chance to offer a special thanks to my fellow FHLSA committee members (and their other halves and children too). Each summer we pull together and put on the best show we can because we care for our special village school and we enjoy seeing the children enjoy themselves. It isn't always easy, you work so hard (on top of your day jobs) and the commitment and enthusiasm of the team never fails to amaze me.
