Faith Tour

On Wednesday 5th October year 3 completed the Queen’s Park Faith tour. They started their day at the Sikh Gurdwara respectfully listening to one of the volunteers share his knowledge about the 10 Gurus and the 5 K’s. Then year 3 entered the prayer hall and were able to listen to the Guru Granth Sahib being read. They were also able to take a closer look at it.

After removing their shoes in the Mosque the children listened to a presentation given by the Imam. He shared the 5 pillars of Islam. Then they were allowed to look around the prayer hall looking at the ceilings tiles that showed the 99 names for Allah.

Once inside the church the children listened to a talk about how Christians worship. They were then able to explore the different artefacts used during worship, they were encouraged to share their new knowledge within the group by answering questions. Throughout the day the children were able to freely ask questions to develop their understanding of worship.
